Updates; M for Montreal & New Performance Video!
Hello, how are you? It's been a while.
I'm back in Toronto! Somehow winter has happened and Canada is cold and all my porch plants are frozen. It was fun to play some Montreal shows this past week.
M for Montreal
I had a great M for Montreal experience; one of the most brilliantly organized Canadian festivals I've been to. So many new friends from around the world, and new ideas that I am excited to reflect on.
On the Friday evening, I played at a beautiful space on Van Horne called Nomad.
My favourite moment was meeting three kids (ages 2-10) who enjoyed my show. We exchanged business cards! Theirs were made with crayon. Mine was made with a bird stamp, which they approved of fully. They told me what songs they liked and didn't like, and why. They also expressed interest in forming a band, which I seriously considered.
New Performance Video
Thomas Van der Zaag and I drove to a beautiful farmhouse in Alliston, Ontario to record some performance videos. We did some more fancy ones with cool lights and me in a nice dress, but the first one we've released is my favourite. It was made the next day after recording the official ones, and I'm just wearing sweatpants and singing honestly. It suits the lyrics that I'm singing:
"And for once, I am not self conscious, And for once, I am not afraid. And for once, I am worth loving, I am strong, I am lovely, I am brave."
I hope the winter is being kind to you, wherever in the world you are (although, happy summer if you are on the other side of the globe).
I hope you are feeling strong, and lovely and brave to face whatever is next for you.
Next show: December 4th at Cameron House, Toronto.
Thank you for reading and check back soon!
